Surprise, surprise, what the Government says about his new role, and what the reality is, are 2 completely different things.

This is a principaled man, who after years of serving his country will not lay down to keep Thaksin happy.

Whether time means he will or won't actually get back to his previous role, doesn't matter. A ruling in his favour will set a precedent, taking away another tactic to ensure the 'right' people are in the right jobs.

I agree with what you say he is indeed a heroic man. Win lose or draw the government can not look good in this.

Part of the Government's problem was the way they dealt with this. At no point was he deemed the wrong man (lack of anything to support that argument). It was the 'promotion' to use his skills where the Government deemed them most appropriate.

Of course, this Government thought the task was complete when he cleared his desk. They didn't think further. Most unlike this Government to be guilty of not thinking.
