It's highly rumoured to be the next Asian Corolla Altis,wonder will the whole BKK taxi companies will use them as well?

Yep, that's pretty much what it's going to look like. As noted i another thread, they will be launched here somewhere around the Aug-Nov timeframe this year.

Can't see any reason why taxi's would change their brand allegiance now, especially seeing the deals Toyota do for them on their special taxi-pack versions of the car.

I think I saw one of these on display in Big C on Rama IV on the weekend. I didn't pay too much attention as I am not in the market for a taxi.

The one I saw looked very much like the one at the top of this page. I just went to the Toyota Thailand website and looked at the TRD sportivo and it wasn't one of those.

I agree with u as well as i have a friend whom can't diffrentiate between Vios and Altis as well.He told me both models looked the same to him.

As I mentioned I didn't really pay much attention as it is not a car that interests me greatly. Really just walked past and noticed that it was a new shaped Toyota. Out of country for the next week or so so can't really go back and check.

Correct - the Asia Pacific versions will be based on the European models.

just paid deposit - about 6 weeks waiting time, 1.8 E SPORT 909K, 10K discount and a few premiums was all toyota Pattaya offered.

We just bought the new Altis on CNG, it will be delivered this month. Wife wanted leather seats and some extra's that i forgot. I only cared for the CNG which will be much cheaper then sohol-91. Also we ordered it with the big wheels because the CNG will come with 15 inch rims, costed extra but looks/drives much better on crappy roads.

We did a testdrive and it's okay, for tall persons a Camry will fit better though. My arms don't fit on the armrests in the doors because the doors are small. I don't hit my head against the ceiling though like i do in a taxi while sitting in the backseat.

I remember the salesman (who doesn't speak any english) recommended to buy 3m windowfoil because Toyota delivers it with standard cheaper foil. That costed 5000 extra. The original foil has a warranty for 5 years and i don't understand why they have to sell you that on a brand new Toyota. Is only to make extra profit i guess. When i went to see the accesoires-department there was a girl sitting there playing on her phone and she spoke perfect english. Why she has to sit there doing nothing all day while the salesguy can't speak english at all? I asked her if i could see the minifridge that can be ordered as an extra but sorry sir, today it is sunday and the mini-fridge can only be shown during the week! TIT.

It will be the wife's car and i think it is a perfect car for her.

The sales are so pro that the 1st time i walked out of their showroom after 20 seconds. We had to come back another 3 times but finally bought the car. They called yesterday that the car will be delivered tomorrow but the foglights (why the heck we need them? but we got them for free) are not availlable yet. So they will be installed later when my wife is waiting for that. TIT.

At least they deliver it in time, there is big demand for the new Altis.

We waited about 2 weeks and got the car yesterday. Went to fill it up with cng, wife gave her creditcard but they refused it for 100 baht We didn't understand it but the whole tank full of cng costed 100 baht!

It is a nice car but i m not happy with the foil on the window, the frontscreen is not clear anymore while the doorwindows are.

Also i was not happy with the plastic licenseplate holders but for 500 baht we got stainless ones mounted.

It is a very nice car, looks like an Alfa Romeo to me but my wife thinks it looks like a camry. The foglights will come in 8 weeks but that's allright. Also we got only 1 remote, when i protested another one will come in some weeks . We also have some cheap battery mounted, they try to cheat you on everything that does not belong to the car, all cheap quality's which i really don't understand but hey TIT.

thanks for the infos - so you got 1 remote and 1 spare key and noe a 2nd remote is on the way? How you recognized the cheap battery? I was planing the foil with 40% front and 60% side and back but now will change to just a small 15cm stripe with 80% on the very top of the windscreen and clear below abd 60% side/back.

How much is the 1st class insurance premium? My pattaya dealer said " no information/price yet"

I ordered 1.8 ESport, white pearl - got trunk tray, 4 rear sensors, foils and number plate frame and 10K cash discount

I forgot how much the insurance was, my wife also took another insurance that will pay the car of in case she looses her job. The financial talking took many hours, i got tired of that because it was in Thai and i went to see the accesory's and other cars.

Yes the 2nd remote is ordered for free, the foil on the windscreen is also 60% but my wife don't like it, it is pretty dark at nite so i think she will change that.

The 1.8 sport should be pretty sporty, on fuel the car drives faster then on ngv but just a little bit. We have a dark grey one, looks great. The seats are perfect, love them but the passenger seat seems to be not straight mounted, i will check that myself. They changed the seatcovers for leather and i think something went wrong with mounting the seat back. But i really like the seats, no sore back after sitting in it all day and they are not slippery. Also the bottleholders are great, 2 in the middle and 2 in the doors. Good radio, doesn't loose signal in BKK (it does outside BKK but TIT). The speakers are okay, can be improved but who cares. It drives 13km a litre on fuel. It also drives 230 km on a full cng tank from 70 litre and that costs 125 baht for a full tank.

We let the car open many hours and it seems to be a mosquito-magnet, more then 30 were in it and don't want to get out, i had to kill them.

I m sure you will love it. Oh i didn't see any brandname on the battery and it has warranty for 1 year, not much. Just a white battery. But battery's are cheap in Thailand, brandnames like Varta cost much more but also last much longer. The mirrors fould automatic, she ordered stainless corolla plates at the doorsteps and they also have lights we found out. Well you can pimp it like you want. Also the 16 inch wheels are great, can order 17 if you want. I think it is a very decent nice car for the price. Don't buy the sunglasses holder from Toyota, that thing doesn't fit my sunglasses and is mounted on the sunblind which makes it very thick, a piece of crap for 700 baht.
