PATTAYA:--A 33 year old motorbike driver, who is thought to have been driving at a high rate of speed, was killed following a collision with an SUV on Jomtien Beach, early on Sunday Morning.

Police and rescue services were called to the Beach, in front of The Now Hotel, located between Soi Watboon and Soi Chayapreuk. The dead man was named as Khun Piboon aged 33, who was lying close to his damaged motorbike, in the center of the road.

Khun Pornjet aged 24, was driving a White Chevrolet Captiva, and is believed to have been initiating a U-turn when the bike slammed into the side of his vehicle.

I would never use the term "negotiating" a u-turn as most here just "initiate" a u-turn without even looking in their rear-view mirror or even thinking.

There are too many behavioral contradictions to Thais and their driving abilities to make any sense out of this. I simply chalk this one up to a statistic; a statistic to be added to that impossibly hard-to-decipher statistic list.

Incidentally, as I read some time back, "Thais don't drive; they aim" and shoot for it; similar to a deer.

Deers drive?

Thinking about it you're right, maybe a Triumph Stag or Chevrolet Impala.
