Renting A Car For A Month Or Two

Featured Replies

I'm moving to Chiang Mai mid July and looking to rent a car or truck for a month or two until I get settled in and have time to buy a car or truck. Does anyone know a reputable place or have something they are renting are reasonable price. The online searches I have seen are around 30k/month which is more than I want to spend

Thanks,

Dave

There are cheaper places to rent a car - Baht Sold has many offers.

My problem with the cut rate places is the level of insurance they provide.

The big guns like Avis, Budget etc are more money, but if you have an accident, their response is first rate and the policy very comprehensive. You pay very little - or nothing.

Had a fender bender in Songkhla - they arrived on scene in less than 30 minutes, took care of everything, escorted me to the office where the damaged car was exchanged for a new one, and off I went.

Total additional cost to me - zero.

Try Thai RentaCar but book through Fast Car rentals online from UK prices are much cheaper than booking direct & service 24/7 is excellent I have used them at least twice a year for the last 10 never had a problem.

Try Avis, use the Thai website, showing at the moment 9,999 baht per month,

Can you post a link - they show 10K for ten days when I try and book.

Though I'd be amazed if that was the total cost for a single month's rental.

My guess this is for a five year contract.
