Recently paved outside the house with concrete pavers. However, when water gets on them, it soaks in.

Any suggestions as to the best sealer to use to waterproof them?

Not spray on acrylic sealers though ( used that before and it makes small bubbles ).

Must be something able to apply with a brush, and soaks into the concrete.

HomePro and almost all builder's merchants have a range of silicone sealing products that are water based and get lapped up by the concrete. I have used one called Diamond Stone on both bricks and sandwash. Apply with a brush or if you have a big area even pour on and spread with a stiff broom.

The water is supposed to soak in... I can't really grasp the problem. If all the water runs off to one side, what happens to it then, is there a drainage?

I'll be interested to what the OP can find. I spent real money on "CPAC acrylic coating" had each brand new paving block cleaned twice by hand, had each block coated twice by had with a small paint brush with "CPAC acrylic coating" and it looked great for one year. But in real life the cooking gas delivery guy, the nephew, the water delivery truck all leak mystery fluids on our driveway and the bird poop is far stronger than the "CPAC acrylic coating". Oh, the daughter BBQ with a traditional cement cooking pot on the front driveway, that left nice marks. Maybe due to "CPAC acrylic coating", no mold, but the color of the paving blocks fade. So maybe the OP will find a better product than I used. I had the fantasy the paving blocks would look the same in our COVERED sidewalk and out driveway as they did inside the store display area, as long as I spent the money on the "CPAC acrylic coating". The coating cost nearly what the paving blocks cost.

Hmmmmm. I already had some coloured pavers, and they don't let the water soak in, but I was unable to find more like them to enlarge the paved area, so used plain concrete pavers that do become waterlogged after any water goes on them.

Anyway, not been to a store yet, but will be looking for the silicone sealer mentioned previously next time I do.

I'd say the water does NOT soak into our paving bricks, the water can cascade down the driveway. But the CPAC acrylic coating did not "protect' the color of the blocks to any significant level. We used the same coating as instructed by CPAC, on the sand that was between each block. Oh that plan worked well, NOT. However the blocks are installed over concrete and they stay in place and weeds do not grown on them.
