Food hygene in THAI (not Thailand)

Featured Replies

Dear All,

I'm gradually training my maid/nanny in Food Hygene, it's taking a while !

ie

don't prepare chicken/pork with other foods etc

Can eat beef rare and duck too ....

also about a fridge/freeze, when not to re-freeze etc etc (everything would go in the freezer again and again if she had her way)

She's sort of educated now but anyone know of a document or site or youtube on this so she see's it's real not me being crazy ?

Cheers

SBeach.....

i have been teaching my g/f the same thing, she leaves food out over night in this heat and thinks its ok to eat in the morning .We would buy meat in bulk and slice it ourselves, had to teach her to pack it in meal sizes or she would defrost the whole lot take what she needed and refreeze. It is not easy to teach someone who has been doing the same as her mum for years, I pulled up a utube of bacteria multiplying on food to try to teach her, but she still leaves rice out all night and smells it before reheating.

Sounds about right !

google food hygiene asia and look at their videos on You Tube. Not sure how much on the videos are in Thai but their commercial courses in Thai are excellent. They also have an FB site

Start with the basics: After wiping bottom using fingers, apply soap to infected area. Scrub thoroughly and then wash with running water.

Don't get all complicated...
