jameslochfyne
I have a container about to be loaded onto a ship in the UK, when I get it to CM I need a store where I can empty it and keep the contents there for a few months and secure. Anybody have any ideas ?.
jaideeguy
can't you just buy the container and park it somewhere?? if not that, you can rent a small apartment for 3 or 4k/mo. You can find cheaper, but better a decent place with some security, right?
Torrens54
BEWARE of the CUSTOMS AGENT RIP OFF!!! We had a 32 Cubic M. Container of houshold goods shipped from Australia a couple of years ago. The "all-in" quoted price turned out to be nothing like the Final Delivered price. The Aussie Agent was probably a member of the Fremantle Mafia. Once the container was picked-up it had storage costs in Fremantle, Singapore and then Bangkok ALL added to original price, including storage due to Thai Public Holidays when it arrived late in BKK. Then the Thai Mafi agent in BKK told us we had to pay for Customs inspection. There were two options...one WITH a receipt or one without... the variation amounted to THOUSANDS of BAHT. Of course every day we delayed on deciding and then waiting to have the agent find a "Customs person" who would issue an authentic receipt we had to pay for Extra Storage. Once they get your goods "on the water" and then in BKK... you are in "their hands" so take care!!
tango
^ Hmm...Hadn't thought of that. Thanks. The 'XTra Fee(s)' probably apply too when shipping from Thailand to the UK or America. If so this could prove financially disastrous depending on the number and length of stay at intermediary ports.
1kate1
Think about it .......having shipped twice using containers decided to forget it when coming to Thailand in fact was advised against it as you can end up having to pay whatever they say.......you have no bargaining power......customs have your goods....Can work out very costly. I ended up selling everything and what few treasures I wanted to keep sent them through DHL.. .
