Hello, I'm sure this is a repetitive question, but if I may ask; If I receive 3 - 60 days tourist visa's from a consulate in the U.S.A,I understand the 1st visa needs to used within 90 days after being issued. But what about the 2nd 60 day visa and 3rd 60 day visa? I'm taking a researched guess of the 2nd needs to be used within 135 days and the 3rd within 180 days after being issued. I'm I close to being correct or can anyone set me straight? Thank you very much.

There is no requirement to use visa within 90 days, or even use them at all. But there will be a validity from date of issue and beyond that the visa is not valid for any entry. Normal validity of tourist visas is 3 months but often 6 months is allowed for two or three entry versions. That time starts at issue date.

When you get the visa it has a validity date. The visa says something like "must be utilized before **-**-****". That is the date before you must make all the entries.

The consulate sets the validity. A consulate in the US will normally give a 6 month validity for a triple entry.

A triple entry visa is vaild for 6 months from the date of issue. However, a statement on the Portland website says that the first entry must be made within 90 days of issuance of the visa. Here's a direct quote:

"YOU MUST ENTER THAILAND WITHIN 90 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF ISSUE OF THE VISA - PLEASE DO NOT SEND APPLICATION MORE THAN 90 DAYS BEFORE YOU INTEND TO ENTER THAILAND".

The statement is confusing. They state that single entry visas are only valid for 90 days so the statement makes sense. They also state that double and triple entry visas are valid for 6 months. They don't state whether this requirement also applies to those visas but I assume that it doesn't and you could enter as long as the visa is still valid.

If you get the visa just prior to leaving for Thailand and use it correctly you can get almost 270 days with 2 border runs and three 30 day extensions.

That is a general information statement I suspect as 90% of the visas they will issue are single entry valid only for 3 months. If the visa is valid longer you have longer to enter/use. There is no requirement to make entry within 90 days on a visa valid longer than that time.
