Footage of rare Thai wildlife

This video is from 2011 I think. I saw it for the first time just now and could not find it in a search here. I wasn't sure whether to put here in General or in the Travel forum, but decided this one best fit - but feel free to move (Mods) if needed.

Anyway, with the recent raid in Bangkok seizing 14 white lions and many other protected species, I thought it interesting to show that Thailand has had some success in wildlife conservation and anti-poaching as this video shows:

Amazing shots and good commentary in English too.

Enjoy.

Great clip!

Here I was thinking it was rare footage of a healthy Issan Buffalo ... rolleyes.gif

.

Let's hope that the guys in the green uniforms can keep it this way.

So that's what Thai wildlife looks like. I have been living in the mountains here for two years now and haven't seen any of those - alive.

Thank you for posting the video, but I think it gives an unnatural perspective of wild game numbers. But, just knowing there are a few wild animals still remaining makes me feel good.

I want one of those Tapirs they're so cute!!

in case anyone missed it... National Geographic premiered a new 2 part series in May - Wild Thailand. (beautiful photography with Jeremy Irons on commentary duty)

it may not play in all regions (copyright issues) but here is episode 2 on YouTube (can't find episode 1 for love nor money...) hope you can view & enjoy it. smile.png

Just joking, I love nature and was planning to do a hike again in one of the nature reserves and try to spot some animals at night with a special binoculars. Last time was not a succes I was covered in leaches because it was raining.
