I will be getting a new passport when I return to my home country.

In my old passport, I have two stamps - one retirement stamp and

the re-entry permit stamp.

The question is this. When I return back to Thailand with the new

passport, there is no retirement stamp and no re-entry stamp.

Please kindly advise.

The next question is can I transfer the two stamps into my new

passport when I return back to Thailand ? Please kindly advise.

Thanking you all in advance.

You will have to use both passports when you return. Showing re-entry permit in old passport.

Then go to immigration to have stamps transferred.

Hi, why not get the new Passport in the Embassy of your country, in Bangkok , go Immigration and transfer the stamps, free of charges, except Passport

Maybe good idea and possible, anyway that is what I always do

Take care

It makes sense for some to get passport in home country especially if they are traveling there anyway.

For some countries it is a long wait to get a new passport through an embassy. I have seen reports of as many as 6 weeks or more.

Even for the UK it takes up to 4 weeks and that requires mailing application to Hong Kong. If in UK it can take as little as one day to get it.

Very few countries issue passports at the embassy. Most require application being sent home for production.
