Hi everybody! Good day!

I had a great time in Thai this January & just can't help thinking about going back. I had saved some money & planned to have a long visit starting from Dec. Really need some great ideas about how to make a stay in Thai around 8-10 months.

I hold a Chinese passport & I am a 30 male. I can get a tourist visa for 2 months. But I remember some says that I can only have a 7 days extendsion with a Chinese passport. (instead of a 30 days extendsion)

Besides, border run seems not workable as I got no visa exception for Thai as well as the countries as well as Burma, Laos, Camboda & Malaysia. (Chinese passport holder)

So, seems that 67 days will be the maximum for my stay. Some one can come up with some good ideas about how to make my stay longer?

I know it is not easy, but really really appreciate some advice. Thanks a lot in advance.

You could enroll in an accredited school, learn Thai, and get an ED visa. But you would have to attend classes and pay for the course up front, most are 20000+ baht. The cost for 1 year would be the price of the course, the initial visa and extensions every 90 days (1900 baht each). Not cheap but it will get you the time that you want.

Thanks Wayne, it is really a good idea. Sounds workable for me. Means a lot, thanks!!!!

Multiple entry tourist visa gives you 3X60 days plus extension of each of those 60 days by an additional 30 days

Total: 270 days, if managed tightly

I believe this is available for anyone getting a tourist visa, and not restricted to nationalities.

The rules for tourist visa entry/extensions are restricted by nationally and such visas are not available to everyone at every Consulate and even when obtained could be limited to 3 month validity so not longer than 180 days possible.

Thanks for the updat. Do you know where I can find the exact rules? As I am not sure whether I can have the 30days extension.

Asking at your local Thai Consulate should be the most reliable as long as in China. Once you ask elsewhere officials often do not know specifics and public details are not easy to find as nobody wants to show favoritism. Believe you are in the situation of only 60 day stay and no extension which is an improvement of the old 30 day stay and possible 30 day extension which used to be used for many countries. But specific extension requirements are an immigration matter and some Consulates will not be aware of anything other than visa matters. As mentioned longer stays are often made for study of language.

Hi, thanks for making this so clear for me. It helps a lot, can't be more grateful.
