Together with a friend, I am in the final stage of "assembling" a new (non-commercial) coffee table book about Chao Phya Abhai Raja Gustave Rolin-Jaecquemyns.

Rolin was the General Adviser of King Chulalongkorn between 1892 and 1901.

Among other texts, this book includes a thesis written by Mrs Kalaya for the Department of Fine Arts, which will give for the first time a Thai approach of the story.

It also includes unseen pictures, among them some original pictures signed by King Chulalonkorn himself.

Next to History, Art will be very present in the book.

There will be portraits and drawings done by Belgian artist Franz Gailliard in 1897 (at the time the Kind made an official visit to Europe), as well as water color drawings made by Gustave Rolin's own wife and daugther.

The first draft of the book is already done and it could be sent for printing in about a month.

If anyone is interested by this story or has some documents related to this story I would be happy to give more information about the subject.
