Phuket International to........(?)

Recommended Posts

Phuket being a holiday destination itself, I'm just curious about you others that live here, where do you holiday?

Already thinking about the NY's days off, thinking of flying out of PIA to.......(?).

Anybody have some recommendations?

Maybe thinking Boracay......... but if you have been on a super holiday in the Asian region having flown out of Phuket, let me know. Thanks, GOM

I usually holiday with family back home. I think they would find that a bit strange though. lol

As a diver I have gone to the Phillipines a couple times. Indonesia and the Red Sea are on my short list as well. I also want to ski in the Swiss alps before my body gets too old to do so.

Hong Kong/Macau/Disney. You're still young enough to enjoy sitting on Mickeys lap. Have to leave your musket at home though.

Why not look at the websites of some of the airlines that fly out of Phuket Airport, particularly, the budget airlines, and buy a ticket to a random place.

Their route maps will tell you where they fly to out of Phuket Airport.

You didn't say if you're looking specifically outside Thailand. But the missus and I recently spent a few days in Bangkok. We stayed near the river (I hate Sukhumvit area!) and it was very different feel for me. Chinatown nearby (great food), palace and temples and all that (if you're into it, I wasn't), main train station (Hualamphong) nearby with attached subway station to get anywhere around the city and/or connect to skytrain.

One of the few of my more recent trips there where I actually enjoyed myself. Like seeing the place for the first time again. smile.png

@eezergood:did Bali extensively in my younger days, but maybe Lombok could be an idea, haven't been back there since the mid-nineties.

@NKM: maybe an Air Asia route map and a dart.

@N47HAN: been to Sing, doesn't do a lot for me and yes, quite pricey for a mini-mart Anchor beer swigger.

@Flying Clog: yes, I was in KL in Chinatown about a year ago, did quite like it.

@iSabai: you are correct sir I did not mention out of country, BKK for NY's.............whoy, sounds like trouble but definitely could be fun.

Thanks everyone, there are some good suggestions there.

AirAsia's route map shows Hong Kong as a possibility. From there, as another member suggests, you can go into Macau for a look.

If I was going on holiday, Palawan in the Philippines.

If going diving, Raja Empat national marine park in eastern Indonesia.

KarenBravo do you dive on Liveaboards when diving in Raja Ampat.

Can do both, but liveaboards would be the preferred option there.

I don't dive now, but used to dive a lot.

Actually, I would prefer to stay on one of the beautiful dive resorts there than be cooped up on a dive-boat.

I have heard that the diving there is absolutely the best in Asia.

Fly to Ho Chi Minh, take busses and train to Hanoi, fly back from there.

Borneo, hike to the top of mount Kinabalu, visit Brunei.
