Passports to be returned while settlement applications in progress?

Don't get too excited yet but there is a trial going on at the moment for a very limited visa type where passports are returned within a week or two!

If successful "there are plans to introduce it across other routes".

For those on settlement visas it might make life a little easier!

I think Thailand is ahead of the UK in this. They take photocopies of passports and return the original to the holder while taking years to process PR applications.
