My impression is that it's mostly a situation of incurring a lot of extra expense to pamper certain families with a lavish lifestyle . Don't get me wrong, I'm not being critical of royalty or the idea of peerage privileges. It's just that growing up without such a situation, I've never been able to see the benefits or advantages of it. Anyway, congrats to the mother and father. Glad it all went okay and all that (but no more than I would congratulate or feel good for the young couple who lives next door to me). You are mistaken. The members of the Royal Family are big news, at least in America. Princess Diana was, and William and Kate are like rock stars when they visit the US. The whole country almost comes to a standstill. This baby should be beautiful. First there was Diana who added height and beauty to the family and bore two tall and very handsome sons. Now Duke of Cambridge has married the tall and gorgeous Kate and their son may be the toast of anywhere he goes. I agree. I've got nothing against those two, certainly seem to be nice people. But they are just regular people. Nothing "royal" or special about them as far as I can tell. I guess it's my American upbringing that rebels against royal treatment of individuals simply based on lineage. The world of news was bought up by the rich and privileged and has served as a propaganda vehicle for their interests, so I won't even bother to read the Telegraph article. I'd just like to know how the £226.5 million profit is passed to the Treasury by the Crown Estate. How is that money generated? What products or services do the royalty provide to make such decent profits? (I hope this doesn't sound challenging. It's not.
