whistling.gif To tell you the honest truth, I don't really care.

The one thing that makes me happy is that the Dollar/Baht rate is now above 31 Baht to a Dollar today and probably for a while .... and my monthly pension transfer is due very soon.

So I am looking at another least 3000 Baht or so this month over last month or especially the transfer in June which was at a rate of less than 30 Baht per Dollar.

Political instability does have it's advantages after all.

Sorry to disappoint you, but the baht didn't move at all during/after the last coup. Which kind of gives credence to a poster on another thread re the planned army maneuvers and about who really runs this country.

BTW didn't move during the 2010 riots either. Much to everyone's consternation.

The yellow occupoation of the airports was less destructive but in some ways more poisonous because it set a precedent that street mobs could dictate to elected governments. If one sows the hurricane, one tends to reap the whirlwind. The "very educate" proto fascists in the PAD set the trend and the reds followed their example.

Are you going the 5 year old kid's excuse of " ... but they did it first"??

They set the precedent for lawless confrontation with an elected government and they are meant to be the responsible civilised educated people not the ignorant peasants.

So, that's a Yes.

So you don't understand what setting a precedent means. And who's behaving like a five year old now?

Smart businessmen don't pay for landslides.

Unfortunately Thaksin isn't a smart businessman. Just check his CV

CV, Schmee Vee. Look at the guys' bank account.

Bank accounts are one thing, whether the money was come by honestly is another thing entirely. I'm sure Bernard Madoff would confirm that when he gets out of prison!

Pffffff ... You guys are still not tired?

Some of you are really obsessed. It's not your country, relax !

A bit of reconciliation would not hurt anyone.

Uhm, of course you might have nothing to moan about anymore... Your life would be even emptier Posted Image

I can't speak for anyone else, but as far as I am concerned, I live here, I work here, I've made my life and home here, and I pay FAR more taxes than 95% of the Thai's here, so to me I have a big stake on what goes on here.

Your comments fly very close to the "if you don't like it, leave" brigade who either are too ignorant to see or care what happens here or live in some quaint little village up-country in their own little worlds.

Whatever...

I still think you (and the other TV politics' "specialists") should relax a bit. It's still not your country and whatever you think or write is not going to change anything. Your opinion does not count at all. You have zero influence. Zero.

It is probably very frustrating for some of you, but this is the way it is. And you know it.

I see always the same names systematically appear on these political threads.

I just have a hard time understanding some TV members' obsession for this subject and wonder if you have still time for your work or simply to enjoy life... Do you enjoy life? Or is anger and frustration consuming you to the point you need to stick to this forum and express your feelings here?

Reconciliation would not change anything at all in your personal life or in your work. Except that you would be able to use the time spent on these threads for something better. Funnier too.

Your nerves and your mood might well feel a difference...

With reconciliation you might even end up happier, who knows Posted Image

But you need to relax first Posted Image

excellent advice you ought to try it.

You are all wound up about what people you have never met and never will are doing. You are a prime example of a red shirt, want every body to do things you want done and enjoy it. If not attack. You might want to get out some more and find out how wonderful Thailand can be.

You sound like one of those who have to work or go crazy type people to me. I was once that way. First two week vacation I ever had I just about went crazy. Now I am retired and have the time to do what ever I want money and physical condition allowing and I bring in far more than the minimum 65,000 baht a month.

Just because some of us enjoy talking about the politics dosen't mean we are wrong. It just means we enjoy it more than sitting on a bar stool going home getting up (some times alone some times with some one you don't know) going to work etc

Arf :)

Relax :)

The people who know me must laugh at what you wrote :)

Yet more wild and unfounded news. Where do the journalists or translators get the news from - a comic book? As if 500,000 anti-government protesters are about to head for Rajamangala Stadium. Five hundred thousand??? Even more ridiculous than ever. The stadium holds about 65,000 at most.

The anti-government protesters (perhaps 1,000-2,000 at most) are going to be wandering around looking lost trying to find some friends tomorrow, so it's not as if there's going to be much need for red shirt supporters to confront them.

Can't these idiots (on all sides) just get on with running the country for the people, or just bugger off and let someone else do the job. Waste of space the lot of them.

From today's Nation:

The People's Army has called for a peaceful demonstration today at Lumpini Park while red-shirt leaders have vowed to mobilise several thousands of government supporters in a show of force against anti-government protesters.

The public park is not in the three Bangkok districts where the Cabinet last week imposed the Internal Security Act.

The anti-government People's Army yesterday revealed the names of 30 high-ranking officials, including military men, who back the group in its campaign to bring down the Thaksin regime.

They really have a problem with intercommunicating with there BS

"Red-shirt leader weng Tojirakarn announced yesterday the start of the red-shirts' campaign against the bureaucratic polity, by ordering leaders to mobilise 20,000 people from each province across the country to converge at the Rajamangala National Stadium.

Nisit Sinthuprai, another red-shirt leader, said he expected at least 500,000 government supporters to be mobilised for a gathering at the stadium. He told the red shirts in all provinces to be ready"

Now the way I figure it is Tojirakarn is calling for 20,000 from each province, 64 provinces X 20,000= 1,280,000

Now we have Nisit Sinthuprai another red shirt leader calling for 500,000 that will give them a combined presentation of 1.780.000. I wonder if they will be supplying meals with 500 baht in them? Works out to 890,000,000 baht for one day plus the transportation costs.
