Chances for Thai college graduates in Europe

Featured Replies

Good morning everyone,

so I would like to know what the chances are for Thai college graduates who want to stay and work in Europe, especially in France or Germany.

I'm currently thinking about applying for a Joint Degree at my home university in Germany (Karlsruher Institute of Technology) and either the Art et Métiers ParisTech or the INSA Lyon in France.

Sounds pretty great, but I wouldn't be able to spend a lot of time in Thailand with my love.

So the idea came to mind for her to come and work in Europe. She graduated with a bachelor degree in Health Educational Science from the department of Physical Education of (วิชาเอกสุกศึกษาคณะพละศึกษา) from Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok.

I met her when I was doing Voluntary Service as an English Teacher in the less developed parts of the Northeast.

So, for me to get my Joint Degree I don't have to do much more than learning French. That shouldn't prove to be that much of a problem.

For her, the problem is not only learning the language (I'm way more proficient in Thai than she is in English), but also finding a job, right?

Since 2012, we got the Blue Card in the EU, to say a work/life permit for qualified specialists who got a job offer over 46.400 €.

Which is a lot of money^^ But (at least for Germany) it also says "salary adequate to the field of work".

For me and her, money is really not that important, I live of about 600€ right now and can't complain, she currently works for, well.. 63 Baht/h :D

Sooo I really would like to know what the situation is for getting work or stay permits for France. Another problem might be the question of cash on her bank account. The marriage of her parents recently went down the drain and I have no idea if and who could provide the necessarily amount of money to be able to get any kind of visa for the EU. How much is it, actually? (I'm referring to that "Yes I can provide for myself over the full period of time during wich I'm going to stay in your country, fatso").

Really appreciate your help folks, kinda stuck here^^

Regards

Lo
