Am I allowed to like a well written Facebook post whilst at the same time disagreeing with the validity of the content?

Sent from my GT-I9003 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

umm apparently not.

Oh....my....god..... With all my posts taking a somewhat dim view of the

current government, guess I will be headed to jail for sure. Maybe I should

start packing my bags !!

probably to early to pack your bags, but don't bring all your money over here!

I love Thailand, PTP, Red Shirts, Jutaporn and all the Shinawatra;s .

There, now I should be in the good books in Thailand and will get an extension of stay

Me too, only I like them more than you.Tell you what though, even these corrupt extorsionists wouldnt be able to get 100,000 baht out of me,and as for 5 years in gaol I am 73 now and wouldnt last 5 weeks inside.

  • 5 months later...

Ohhh Panic or what ? cheesy.gif

I hope they get really anal about trying to enforce this :) the more they try to tighten their grip the more will slip though their fingers, their time is nearly over and the old codgers are losing control and the plot.

Put everyone in jail then, go on, because everyone is thinking and talking the same anyway and theres not a damned thing that can be done about it clap2.gif

The four included Sermsuk Kasitipradit, political and security editor of Thai Public Broadcast Service (Thai PBS), Dechatorn Tirapiriya, a Red Shirt leader in Chonburi province, Warnuee Kamduangwong and a user under the pseudonym “Yo Onshine”.

That's impossible, a read shirt leader committing a crime, that's unheard of.

I love that you so completely miss the point of the article here. Do you consider 'posting messages that may cause social anxiety' to be a crime (as clearly the army does)?

Yes, that is (or should be) the focus of your attention. Or do you just trawl the news items looking for mention of red shirts so that you can write some ill-considered diatribe in a hysterical fashion? Oops, I might have hit the nail on the head there....

Pol Maj Gen Pisit Pao-in, commander of the Technology Crime Suppression Division, said the four suspects posted messages via social media

and urged people to stock up on food and water in preparations for shortage.

Looking forward to Pisit arresting the Malaysian Ambassador

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/695870-embassy-of-malaysia-gives-advice-on-bangkok-shutdown/

As well as arresting the USA embassy staff

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/695668-us-embassy-in-bangkok-advises-citizens-to-stock-a-two-week-supply-of-cash-food-and-medicine/

for posting the same thing.

Nice one. As I really do not expect a mass arrest of the US Embassy staff, then this will

show the government is really a bully and picking on people who cannot resist...

So... one is free to say whatever one wants, so long as it: 1) has nothing to do with the Royal Family, or anyone who knows the RF, or anyone who has ever seen the RF, either in person or on TV, or anyone who has ever read about the RF; 2) does not cause anybody anywhere any sort of anxiety; 3) what is said has absolutely no basis in fact or truth, or could possibly be misconstrued by anyone anywhere as having any legitimate basis in fact or truth; and 4) it does not parody anything having to do with any aspect of Thailand or Siam, real or imagined, cultural or otherwise, as determined by any government, police or military official, or any Minister of any government agency--regardless of whether the agency exists or not.

Good grief.

Perhaps you would enjoy George Orwell's Burmese Days.

The Karma Police are busy... everywhere ;-)
