After our insurance company closed their Nathon office and moved to Bophut we have spent many a wasted hour driving the circumference of the island backwards and forwards in a fruitless attempt to have the very basics of our policy renewal documents translated into English so we can understand the cover, exclusions and excesses.

The repeated apologies and promises do not seem to be translating into the true English meaning of 'tomorrow' and as infectious as the accompanying smile is it is increasingly looking more like 'pay the premium' then something might be done for you by head office.

Can any of you nice helpful people out there recommend a good experience in taking out buildings and contents insurance that does not require the employment of translations services?

BSI Brokers (Thailand) Ltd.

Expat. manager, helpful staff and it can all be done on the 'phone, by internet and post. You will probably also be offered documents in English. They offer a range of insurers' products.

If you are more comfortable with French speakers - the insurance agents in Fisherman's Village.

First right under the arch and at the end of the dirt track. AXA sign on the window.

(They speak good English as well!)
