CheckInn99 Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 (edited) and another from Humble Mike... for those who know him - he is the lead singer of Supabad Edited August 30, 2013 by CheckInn99
CheckInn99 Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 ah the late Chrissy Amphlett, when I think of her I touch myself. Waza the girls do two Divynyls numbers Boys in Town and Fine Line between Pleasure and Pain (Idont have a clip of that one yet).. I understand they will soon learn Chrissy's signature piece "I touch myself" the girls actually do over 80 classic Downunder (not forgetting Crowded House) rock numbers and can go for 6 hours nonstop and only cover 70 of them 1

itchybum Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Any free accommodation available to members ?
itchybum Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 How often does the girl band play ? And do you guys have live music every night ?
CheckInn99 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Any free accommodation available to members ? Hi IB. we are just a nightclub... originally in the 50's and 60's when it was "The Copa" there was accommodation upstairs. These days the two floors of rooms have been sealed / locked up. There is a boutique hotel a couple of doors down from us Ever Rich hotel... clean neat and easily accessible. good rates are through www.agoda.com
CheckInn99 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 (edited) How often does the girl band play ? And do you guys have live music every night ? Music of the Heart band play every night between 8.30pm and 1.30am (sometimes till 2 when busy)... they take no breaks. We do over 60 hours of live music / week - (which is not common). Acoustic Happy hour every evening between 6-8.30am with some great solo and duo musicians. Humble Mike will play next Friday... then we host Jazz on Sukhumvit every Sunday afternoon - this is jam session where up to about 10-12 visiting and local musicians play alongside our anchor band The William Waite Quartet. The jazz jam is now very popular - but an entirely different crowd to the evening entertainment. Then one / twice a month we put on theme nights. Next up after the TV party is our Casablanca theme night on 20-21Sep Then our next 2 big events are the Rocky Horror Picture show (musical) 4 nights over Halloween and then in November a full on Blues Brothers night (we are flying in Blues Brothers Tribute band members) - Dan Aykroyd will join us on a live link to kick the night off. Last Saturday of the month we put on The Vibe - Poetry with music (3-7pm). Maybe you can subscribe to our Youtube channel 'lastnightinbangkok' we have over 400 clips of the entertainment. smokie36 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I wish you all the best for your party folks....undortunately like many of the members it seems this just doesn't fall at a convenient time. How about a party in Dec or Jan? Now that would rock!

Apparently there is a dwarf in Oz with minor burns looking for a job !! Itchybum Yes - we will have Dan Aykroyd via video link for the BB night on 24Nov.. He was originally to come in person on his return from the Crystal Head Vodka launch in Australia - courtesy of Star Casinos in Sydney which extended his time by an additional 10 days - he could not schedule us in.. (next year) I will be interviewing him.... The Blues Brothers Night at Checkinn has been our premier event (but this year it may get bumped from the top event list in favour of the Rocky Horror show over Halloween
CheckInn99 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 (edited) For those in town over Halloween the Rocky Horror Show will be a blast - we have tickets left on Wed & Thurs night..with a very limited number for the Friday & Sat. Time is Fleeting - so you had better book soon. This is the first public advertising... and also the first time the show has been performed in Bangkok. Edited September 7, 2013 by CheckInn99 1
itchybum Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 (edited) Can you get puppetry of the penis ? By the way, incase anyone gets upset...you know whom you are....puppetry of the penis is an outstanding live entertainment group from Oz....they'd bring the house down. . CheckInn99 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Jeez Itchy thanks for the edit - I thought for a minute the Thai Visa morals sherrif's were going to pull that down...
quadman Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Please include me and 1 guest on the list, for total of 2! Happy finally to be in Bkk at the same time as a party!
orang37 Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 (edited) We will be providing name tags at the party so people can get to know each other by their screen name. Sawasdee Khrup, Khun Basmlb, And, if someone who's a combination of more than one mind and soul, in one human body, wishes to use a name that is not either the name given to said human at birth, or their screen name ? Would they need to pay two admission fees ? I have viewed video samples of the gyrations and sound waves emanated from the band to be playing, and I wonder to what extent they may be playing at such a loud volume that might make transmission and reception of vocal sounds in interaction with other beings difficult for those with hyperacusis, which would, of course, be dependent on the physical space available, and the extent of crowding of attendees. I do realize this question hypotheses that TV members may wish to speak to each other. ~o:37; Edited September 9, 2013 by orang37 1
eurovrod Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Ok, I am going, but it'll make the beer per head go down ;-)
