You need to give the guys a bit more information, there are far too many variables, does she want to live in the US or go on holiday?

Basically your girlfriend, remember she is the one that is applying for the visa, needs to convince the visa officer that her trip is genuine and affordable and there are compelling reasons for her to return home, unless she plans to live there.

So you need to let us have a bit more information about her and indeed you, including your nationality?

Plenty of threads on this forum regarding applicants for US visas, some successful and some not.

If she don't own land or have A business or both it might not be easy. The US don't want people coming there and not returning back home.

Visit the US embassy website and make a note of the criteria. Better yet stop trying to save money by posting or advice on a public forum and pony up the cash to support her Inited states visit!

From my dealings. This is what I came away with. She should have money in the bank, own a house--land is not enough unless its in the center of a major city. Own a car. Long term job with letter from employer saying she will still have a job when she comes back. A return ticket. They want to "Know" for sure she is coming back. I think it is best for you to stay out of the picture, Do not say you are supporting her visit but she can be visiting you. They decide in about 5 minutes. They may pull only one paper out of the packet of "proof" and look at it. My wife did not get hers because being married to me was a count against her.

Proof that you are returning here can also help. Being on extensions of stay here is good for that.

A good job is probably the best proof she will return.

Return ticket does no good at all and info on website says not to buy tickets before getting visa.

Disagree. If the boyfriend is well established here in Thailand through job, retirement, long term stay, etc, and the relationship to the girl is also semi long term, the presumption will often to normally be that since it looks like the B/F will return, the G/F will accompany him back.

Thus, no need for house, car, job, etc.

At least that's the way it's worked for my now wife.

I had been retired here for 2 years at the time, Been staying here long term for almost four, married for almost two and we had a house here. But in the letter I wrote I told them that we would be staying in my residents in the states. I think that was the mistake I made. That was the only thing they read from the packet. I think if I had an on going job here, that may have made a difference.

That about the return ticket is what I thought also but the last two women I know that went in were asked if they had it. They didn't and did get the visa, but they were asked for it.
