pattayadingo
My TOT went down for almost 30 hours. Yet no mention of any problems here in the Pattaya section. Was it a localised problem? I even spoke to a supervisor about it at TOT and it was not until the Thai lady phoned that I got the internet back. But still no explanations - as ever - as to what the problem was from TOT. johng
Yesterday my TOT internet speed was very erratic but no outage... they where probably messing with the spaghetti telephone lines in your area.
doctormann
There were a lot of ToT men up ladders, working on the lines in Soi Khaotalo. My connection was down for about 24 hours, from around 19:00 on Tuesday night. Even my land line phone was dead! I phoned the 1100 number on Wednesday morning - no information except that the 'fault' would be reported. Up until a few days ago my connection had been remarkably stable with only the occasional drop-out. Now, however, it's rubbish - maybe six to eight drop-outs a day for several minutes each time. I can maybe understand why there are problems at busy times but, according to the log that my router generates, I have been getting disconnections in the small hours of the morning, when the various PCs on my intranet are all powered off. The router is powered on 24/7 and logs all network events. Mysterious - is all this down to ToT doing things in the middle of the night or do I just have a dodgy router I wonder? AbeSurd
Here in central Pattaya (near Big C Extra on Central Rd) there's been no problem recently with my TOT connection.

Must have been in the Khao Talo are then as doctomann had a long outage too. Men up ladders? Maybe someone caught the lines. There was some heavy machinery up the road recently. Good to know it was not just me, not that I'd wish it on others, but we know TOT can be very unhelpful at times

bangkokstick
Why not stop making problems and just pay a second Internet connection ? Pay 3BB ALSO and you won't have any reason to complain because it never happens that both are down at the same time !

DUH- I suppose you also belong to three other internet providers for "just in case"; the point is, a internet provider should not be "down" for more than a couple hours. I know, we all should be happy that this developing country HAS internet

Pretty much everybody has dropped it and moved back to ToT. Which is just marginally better.

Pay 3BB ALSO and you won't have any reason to complain because it never happens that both are down at the same time ! i have both, TOT and 3bb and experienced many times that both were out, although only a very short time (5-10 minutes). two years ago it happened that the outage lasted sometimes much longer (2-3 days). that's why i got an additional wifi-dongle. measured both a few minutes ago (click to enlarge): Edited August 30, 2013 by Naam
balo
TOT I Can't STAND THIS ANYMORE! Trying to watch TV streams in the evening is no IMPOSSIBLE in Jomtien area ! Yes I have a normal 10 Mb line and I run speedtest.net and yes the result to a EU server is good, which means 2-4 mb more than enough to watch a stream that requires 384 kb/s . Still any video streams will not work , a few seconds and it stops ! This started already a few weeks ago , and its been getting worse the last 4 days. I have no other alternatives than using my 3G Dtac which at least gives me a better speed than 384 kb so I can watch TV Edited August 31, 2013 by balo

Turkleton
well, if everybody posts ridiculous, useless and faked (by the ISP) speed tests...I have on more. 5 minutes ago. pattayadingo
I'll add that the last couple of days since that outage, I've been hammering TheBox and getting d/l speeds of 900+ I got all the d/l's I wanted before they closed. There are the odd times when the internet goes off for about 5 minutes at the same time each day. I simply presume they are setting something at their end. It can be frustrating with TOT - and with others from reports so a case of take your pick, I feel but neve expect perfection
