The Heron - Paddington London

Hi all

Just wanted to give you a heads up on my experiences at The Heron.

I have been their several times before with my partner and found the food to be terrific an a satisfactory customer service, but then I recently booked an appointment for my partner and myself as it was her birthday. My partner made her order and I made mine, when I got the food which was Thai style chicken and noodles, there were 3 measly pieces of chicken so I told the waiter and his English was not great so he brought a colleague who's English was better to speak with me. I explained that the chicken portion was very small and she agreed to cancel and replace the order with something new, stating that there was a new cook. 5 minutes later she appeared and told me the cook did not want to cook another dish in case it was not sufficient again.

Ok at this point I was quite angry and felt let down and my partner finished her food and I asked for the bill, when I got the bill the waiter told me my dish had been cancelled and I would only be charged for my partners dish. After leaving and speaking with my partner I suddenly realised they had not cancelled my dish and had charged me.

Despite the food always being good I will not go to this place anymore because of the dishonesty and lack of good customer service.

It's a long way from Thailand isn't it.

Looks like this is one for the not Thailand related bin I'm afraid to say.

Hey, it was Thai style chicken. Perhaps the joint is run by British Rail now eh.

Should be posted in "Thais in other countries" section. Thanks for the warning next time im in Paddington with the Gf i'll avoid the The Heron.
