simplistic query by someone inexpert in these matters

I'd be grateful for guidance on a problem I'm trying to resolve with software that's apparently available. As follows:

I have an iPad2 with music/data which is not on my MacBook pro. (A lot of the music was not bought online but rathe copied from cd s). I found via google that there is software available to move the stuff on the iPad to my MacB at http://www.purpleghost.com/irepo.php

But when I tried to buy it it seems they want to send it me.

Is it not possible to simply download it rather than have a cd posted to on'e address - particularly as the seller is in America and wants to bill in USD?

To try to cut that corner I went along to Pantip (in Chiangmai) where the chap says he has the software available but not in the new version; he said he has version 5, but not 5.6. I can't see anything about such versions on the website above.

Can someone give me some simple, non-jargon guidance please? I want to resolve the problem quickly because in the meantime I've had to stop all synching.

Thanks for the reference. I had a quick look and see that it makes managing stuff on iPad/iPhone a lot easier through the Mac, but will it enable transfer of stuff on the iPad to the connected Mac - which is what I want?
