BANGKOK: -- After four suspected Malaysian gangsters were caught trying to enter Thailand in Bukit Kayu Hitam last week, officials said announced that foreigner gang members found in the country will face tough legal action.

The gangsters were attempting to cross the border into Thailand to have their tattoos removed.

Due to increasing crime rates the Malaysian government began cracking down on gang members last month. To date 4,000 arrests have been made.

I just wonder if Thai gangsters and murderers will have the same treatment or if they still can flee the country . coffee1.gif

It is a protected job.

Looks to me like medical tourism if the Malaysian " gangsters" are coming into Thailand to have tattoos removed. cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

A number of years ago there was a big crime crackdown in Indonesia. One of the ways the police there used to

round up criminals was to identify them by tattoos. Clearly Malaysia is doing the same thing, so time to get rid

of those tattoos. TAT should be rejoicing at this new market.....

How many Thai gang members have been arrested in Thailand?

Wouldn't want to crease or ruffle their nice tight uniforms.

Lets not forget about our cash rich Russian gangsters/mafia mad.gif .

A silly question but in 2015, once ASEAN is in effect, could gangsters work in other countries? :)

I'm not sure. But if so then no doubt Thailand will look to become the regional hub.

Thailand should take action to ALL gangsters, no matter where they come from

Now come on, they were really tough on the foreign guys who shot two tourists that were in the way of their proposed target. coffee1.gif

Those tourists really are a pain sometimes. rolleyes.gif

Does this include the Russian gangsters in Pattaya and Phuket?

I will guess it does not apply to the Thai gangsters, most of whom are police anyway.

Please stop taking the piss out of Thailand.

She has feelings too.

One law for everybody surely, penalty based on offence not nationality..but as this is a cake and eat it society- access to and compartitive justice vary wildly...recently tourist courts have been mooted-again very ominous.. Thailand isn't a signatory of many international jurist norms as it is-eg no stenographer the presiding judge merely scribbling what HE thinks is worth noting...thus no transcripts or records for future appeals ...What little rights we have are irksome to them, they'd rather we had none-just the way it is.

Obviously the Thai cops dont want any competition coming over the border.

E good if they could tidy up their own mess first, but that would mean that the biggest criminal syndicate the BIB would be closed down.

As long as the tourists numbers are going up that’s the main thing Welcome one and all to Thailand.

Shame they don't take 'tough legal action' against the gangsters running this country !

Crack down on all gangsters, scammers, and con men, except in

Pattaya where they seem to be Teflon coated and do anything

they want.

...who forget to pay their 'protection' money.

Funny that in all my time in Thailand ive never come across any thai gangsters or bent cops. maybe its the company some people keep. Not saying they do not exist mind.

Dont send in the DSI ...they state its impossible to catch black plate taxi drivers in Phuket airport !!!

Tougher than Thai gangster??

They could build tougher prisons especially for foreigners .. Brilliant idea! When they do brain storming what comes out of it is always storming
