Surely after 40-45 yrs working, you'd have some equity in your house, if sold, or rent out, for lump sum or supplement income requirements with pension." Would you be surprised if I told you there are some expat retirees here who have never worked a day in their life. They have lived off welfare all their life, and if they did some work, it was cash, so contributed nothing. I would suggest it's this demographic that Thailand does not want, nor need, and I have no sympathy if they are cleared out.
