Unlike income taxes which are imposed directly on the income of the taxpayer, the stealth tax is smaller in rate and is collectible at point of sale. I don't know where you come from, but in my home country, beer is way cheaper than here.. For example: A box of (cheap) beer starts at ~5€ . The cheapest I think is Germany, where beer is taxed like food. Who drinks at home anyway? :- I like drinking at home .There's nothing nicer than chilling out on a evening sat next to your swimming pool with the Ribs & Chicken sizzling on the BBQ and a fridge full of ice cold beer. What does this mean in the bars? :- Not bothered anymore! TallGuyJohninBKK Posted September 7, 2013 Share Posted September 7, 2013 The Thai govt guy in the news article here the other day announcing the increase in alcohol taxes -- all alcohol -- said it was supposed to be 2 or 3 baht extra for a regular bottle of beer at retail...
