ColPyat
Well, it seems that Thaksin did, in fact, meet Blair: Which was to be expected. Thaksin still is a prime minister even though the obvious difficulties. Thailand may not be much on the radar of the international media, but in political terms Thailand is a very important country in the region, which is even hightened in the present "war on terrorism" and Thailand's role in it. The rest of the artice of the nation is unfortunately the usual partisan reporting. Government leaders and other VIPs making informal visits outside the very formal, by protocol dominated state visists is a very common occurance in world politics, and only seems to become an important issue when some media outlet decides it to be one.
