I have just landed what I think is a very good job. I have obtained a good TEFL. But have left my Degree (Graphic Design) at home for safety. I scanned it and bought a copy on a hard drive with some other bits and pieces (show reel). I have shown my employer all of these and he was very impressed with the show reel and TEFL, so I was asked to do a demo class. I prepared for the hour lesson asked of me and upon turning up, at school, I was asked to do three hours (a bit cheeky I thought) which I did, my future employer was so impressed he nearly offered me the job on the spot.

We met shortly after and the details of the position were proposed to me, all good, but he insisted on me getting the original of the degree sent over from England, this I am having trouble doing as it is in storage. CAN ANYONE HELP ME. I do not wish and cannot afford to fly home to get it myself.

What I meant to say is, if I can't get my Degree out of storage and sent over here, what options are open to me? Do optain a fake replacement, do I look for another job saying I have no Degree, are there any other options...?

You can submit a request to the school that gave the degree to supply you with another. Usually a fee will apply.

Average fee is about 25GBP for a new cert. Count on a little more for postage and if it urgent then its probably worth having it DHL'd or similar.

It seems a little odd that you might'nt be able to access your degree. As far as I understand, in order to obtain a WP in the LoS... you will need to present your original degree to the necessary authorities. Best try & get it shipped over.

As said already either get it out of storage or get your college to send a new one. Quite pricey and a long wait when I had to get a new one sent myself.

"I've got a degree but it's at home / not in the country / the dog ate it / I lost it. Honest!"

If you've got it, then show it. If not, well I guess excuses are the next best thing.
