ABCer
I may be wrong. I don't know all the facts. I don't know statistics. But in my humble opinion based only on perception and observations: Thailand does not have an adequate Social Security System catering for single mums. Thailand does not have an adequate Legal Protection System for children from broken families. Thailand does not have an adequate enforcement for existing Family Laws (whatever they are?). All these factors lead to the very strong Extended Family ties often dominated by females and far too often to irresponsibility of male population. I am not saying this about all Thais. I am not sure it is applicable to majority of Thais. But it surely is present, perceived and quite prominent. It is a tropical country. Maturing comes early. Nature takes its tall. First comes love/sex, than come children, than comes search for a father/provider. Natural father goes off on another mission. Everybody is happy. It is LOS indeed...
