Useful Thai Idioms

Since we can't write Thai Script in the General Forum ... very few ... none actually.

Unless you want the English translation of the Thai Idiom ... but that does lose it's 'essence' don't you think?

When translated into English, David, some are quite amusing. One of my favourites is: you can't hide a dead elephant under a lotus leaf. Sadly, I lost my book of Thai idioms and have not found another copy like it.

'Its better to hold a fart than a shit' can be used when accused of leaving small tips.

Are you sure you dont mean this,

กำขี้ดีกว่ากำตด

I though that translated as, a bird in the hand..........

That's it - gam ki dee kwa gam dot - apologies for poor translit
