Hi - I just received my new USA passport. I have a double entry tourist visa with one 60 day entry already used in the old passport. The embassy gave me back my old passport so I could transfer the visa to the new one. The problem is my 60 days are expired today!!. When I go to immigration are they going to stamp me OVERSTAY?!?! They initially told me I would just be given a 30 day stamp with the new passport and the visa would be obsolete??

Thanks for any responses

What does the US Embassy have to do with it? DId it take a lot more than the normal 10 days or so? If you had a 60 day entry and it just ended sounds as if there should have been plenty of time to obtain the passport.

If you don't get extension today you will be charged overstay of 500 baht per day .

Your visa is still valid but will not be transfered. Just show both passports.

You have a choice of waiting till Monday to get your extension and pay fine 1500 baht fine or heading for border to use your next entry.

You could of gotten extension in old passport while waiting for new one. It is valid until the date you pick up new one.

Then when you went out for 2nd entry you would of handed over both passports and they would move previous entry/permitted to stay stamp to new one and stamped you out.
