Arday clearly fooled Cambridge at the outset, providing a thesis that was largely someone else's work. Claiming he was a visiting professor at 3 other universities, when he was not. And many other lies. So yes. Arday did deceive and lie to Cambridge. The puzzling thing was that there were better qualified black women in the running, but everyone chose Arday.
