Property Awards celebrate the best in Thailand’s real estate

BANGKOK: -- Leading figures from Thailand’s property industry came together at the Thailand Property Awards 2013 gala dinner and awards presentation ceremony, held at the Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Center at CentralWorld on September 19, 2013.

An engaging keynote address on sustainable property development by award-winning architect and professor, Jason Pomeroy, set the tone for an evening that celebrated quality and excellence in Thailand’s real estate sector.

Now in their eighth year, the Thailand Property Awards were overseen by a new chairman this year – Khun Sunchai Nuengsit, managing director of Buildersmart Public Company Limited. Four new awards were also introduced: Best Residential Development (Khao Yai), Best Villa Rental Agent, Best Villa Architectural Design and Best Villa Interior Design.

In total, 33 awards were presented, not only for the best properties and companies in Bangkok, but also on the Eastern Seaboard, in Hua Hin, Phuket, Koh Samui and Chiang Mai.

A thorough and rigorous judging process by an independent panel of judges, overseen by BDO Advisory, evaluated a record number of nominations and entries this year.

Those developments short-listed were subject to site inspections before the judging panel submitted their list of Winners and Highly Commended developments and businesses

Sansiri Public Company Limited scooped the prestigious Best Developer Thailand award, while Jones Lang LaSalle took home five trophies in the Real Estate Services categories.

“The quality of nominations and entries this year was exceptional and shows the growth and diversity inThailand’s robust real estate industry,” said Terry Blackburn, CEO, Ensign Media Co., Ltd, organisers of the awards.

The Real Estate Personality of the Year, which is decided upon by the editorial team at Property Report Magazine, this year recognised Khun Sorapoj Techakraisri, CEO, PACE Development Corporation for his bold and contemporary vision of modern Bangkok encapsulated in the iconic MahaNakhon development.

lMAO Sansiri, they built the brand new (see half finished) Best condo complete with polystyrene walls and peppered in cement, plaster, paint (windows) and silicone.

They had to pay a penalty of 20,000 baht to each condo owner because it was so late.

Don't see that ever being properly finished.

Pales into insignificance to the now 3 yr late Belle condo at Rama 9.
