Book of PM's trips is prepared

BANGKOK: -- PM's Secretary Suranand Vejjajia plans a compilation of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's overseas trips, following criticisms on the huge spending involved.

He said that it would take a while for the government to compile the benefits of the trips. This should be available for the public soon after the government reveals its 2-year achievements, he said.

He also denied the accusation that each trip involves the expense of Bt40-Bt50 million, as the expense differs accordingly to the distance. He said it is unfair to criticise only on the cost, without considering the benefits.

He also insisted that the overseas trips accomplished two main objectives. First, a number of Thai businesses were given the opportunity in expanding their businesses. Second, the trips restored the country’s tarnished image, following the 2006 coup d’etat.

"After the coup, several countries shut off Thailand. But now, the relations are re-established," he said.

It's telling when the PM of a country has to justify their foreign trips to the populace.

Number 3, someone got to do a LOT of travelling AND shopping, and number 4, someone hasn't been around to run the country or answer question for which she doesn't know the answers, which is the most important part.

Great news.....

"After the coup, several countries shut off Thailand. But now, the relations are re-established," he said.

I guess for one, Montenegro is now back online with Thailand....and with Thb5 million in trade between the 2 countries.....things will now dramatically improve.....!!

Where's Wally has some competition.

Seriously, Thai PR machine, stop making announcements, you have no idea how foolish you sound.

How many volumes are there?

Will libraries index the book under Fiction or Fantasy ?

Will a Library be big enough to hold it?

What to call it?

"The never ending story"

"Travels with my puppet"

"A voyage around my brother"

"Gullibles travels"

"A dummy's guide to luxury travel"

"20,000 leagues under the average IQ"

My preference however is

"The hermit crab"

This one is special, it goes up to eleven.

(if you don't know This is Spinal Tap, don't even try to work that one out)

Highly unlikely as this is only Volume 1 !

How many volumes are there?

Comes as a large set. The final volume, Benefits, will have approximately one page.

As long as she stays PM the book will have a sequel "The Never Endind Story of Me and Planes " whistling.gif

Next stop,... flood escape to Ibiza and Hawaii for diplomatic shopping tours, Highspeed bullet train beggings and more backstabbing " white lying International D**** riding for foreign investment money"

"Floody bye, bye, I'm going to Ibiza and Hawaii" giggle.gifgiggle.gifgiggle.gif

With the deputy finance minister scuppering the bid to remove the luxury goods tax, how else can she get her shopping done other than travelling to the source country. Was it Milan Italy last week?

This is saving money!

As always with Suranand,, very very loose with the truth, and a master of spin: "After the coup, several countries shut off Thailand. But now, the relations are re-established," he said."

Perhaps he would like to list the countries that ".....shut off Thailand....."

He won't, because he can't, because none did.

When did she attend parliarment?

Somehow I doubt that Thailand will even get a mention in the book as one of the countries she has visited.

Don't hold you breath waiting for this book to ever be written; much less published. Delay, distract, obfuscate are their mantras.

The government has not presented their accomplishments for their first year at the helm. So publication after the 2 year anniversy (come and gone) gives lots of time for editing, rewrites, ghost writters, etc to get involved.

The story line may not justify more than copies to cover the coalition members only, or maybe its going to be a show and tell publication.

She goes mainly to communistic fascist countries and learns how they keep their people in line and steal their money. She does nothing for the Thai people. She is in it for the clan. Nothing else.

Seeing as such travel is NOT her job, I feel it is very fair to criticize her. Her job is taking care of the many problems here IN the country, and of which she seems utterly incapable.

I'm sure the list of countries that shut off Thailand and that have now been re-engaged by the PM/DM's hard work, endeavours and charm will be almost as long as the list of government achievements in the last 2 years.

Won't need A4. A3, - maybe back of a postage stamp would be too big too.
