johnfb Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 Last Spring I moved to Thailand to work . I have a work permit and worked until Springtime 2005 for around 18 years in the UK for a high street bank paying tax at full rate in the UK. I have been told that the UK government has a tax treaty with Thailand which allows me to claim my tax back for the first 2 years here working in Thailand. 1) What do I need to get from the tax authorities in the UK 2) Who do I contact in the tax dept in Thailand to arrange this.

Never heard of this Agreement! For legislation that is applicable, and contacts, look in HM Customs & Revenue website, leaflet IR 138.
