can someone explain me the various meanings of the word "choei choei" and when/how it gets used (and written in thai, i tried but failed).

example:

Q: is he a good doctor? reply: choei choei.

but it also gets used in other cases/context.

thx in advance. SL

I think its like a punctuation mark but in a way joking. So visualise this sentence. "I love going to the dentist and getting my front teeth pulled out... choei choei"

I think it can be used to describe doing something, without that something having any great importance attached to it.

Like the phrase you used in the market, in English we might say "I'm just looking". Not to say that it means, 'just' in a directly translated way, but that it implies that the activity isn't particularly serious.
