Water supply suspension warning for Phuket
Tanyaluk Sakoot

PHUKET: -- Water supplies to a large part of the island will be cut off from 9:30 am next Monday (September 30).

The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) will cut off the supply to Kamala, Cherng Talay, Koh Kaew, Rassada and Srisoontorn while it installs new water pipes at the Bang Jo reservoir.

Asked how long this would take, a spokesperson for the PWA said, “Until the work is completed, but most likely not more than 24 hours.”

Residents in the affected areas are urged to store enough water to carry them through the outage. In case of problems call 076-319173

Hopefully I dont have to take a dump during that time.

I'd be shocked if they could actually keep to the time they quoted. Had the water off for over three days when they were performing some "quick routine repairs" a couple years back.

Well, I guess we should be giving credit on two fronts, firstly, thanks for the heads up.

Secondly doing planned upgrades prior to system collapse, well done, keep it up.

It is time to learn how to design systems with dual functionality though in essential services.

They cut off our water at Surin Beach 6 months ago and haven't turned it back on yet !!!

Something to do with water truck "mafia" being related to the OrBorTor/Tessaban...HONEST ....

We have much the same situation in Patong. Complain enough and it gets turned on for a few days, then back off again.
