"Mazda BT50" - small paint repair - where in Phuket

Unfortunately, today I have some paint scraped off from my "Mazda BT50 - bumper". The underlying plastic surface is undamaged, but shines through on a size of a 10 baht coin. The scratched surface extends over a range of about 4 palms. The lacquering I would like to renew immediately.

In Phukettown there is just one Mazda dealer, guess this is the best place for the repair, or is there a better alternative?

What costs are appropriate for such a surface repair?

Appreciate your experience!

There are a few car body repair places on the main road out of phuket town going north towards heroines monument. From phuket town head north and just after Mitsubishi garage (on your right) there are two or three on the left hand side. If you get to Toyota Pearl you have gone about 200m too far. The one I used was pretty good.

I've had a similar scratch and when I was getting a quote for the renewal of the insurance, the guy ask why I don't get it fix.I thought,I will not badder the insurance with such a small thing, but they did fix it.....no problem.

Also do not want my insurance burden. Suspect for a proper repair the bumper should be completely removed and lacquered in a room with air suction - this would probably be an insurance matter. The mounting of the bumper I want to avoid, who knows how the result will look like.
In addition, I am afraid that the insurance company will increase the premium...

The dealer is not the best place, they will probably not even do the repair themselves.

I know 2 places I am reasonably happy with: 1. on Viset Road direction Rawai past the Dai Yuan traffic lights on your left hand side, and 2. on Chao Fa West coming from Phuket Town turn left at the TOT office, after 200 meters on your left hand side.

This is what I suspected...

Next week the car is washed, after moved somewhere for lacquering, hope it looks better then...

I'm pretty sure the dealer can do it. I've had my honda had work done under insurance 3 times. The first time was at the original honda garage and the paint work was fine. Second time was a few years ago, and as it was an old car it was outsourced to a paint company. The paintwork this time was not so good. I noticed the paint didn't match exactly and the hood wasn't quite right either. Third time was recently, and the paintwork was done by honda at pinklao. This time the got to colour correct (the same panel was resprayed for other scratches.

You might want to get some quotes first - if it's more than a few thousand baht it might be better to get insurance to cover it. However, note that you would need to book in insurance work, and most likely have to wait to get the work done.
