RubbaJohnny Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Unlike the doles the millions of Europeans on long term disability can live hereabouts for less. Are those of low IQ being encouraged to emigrate here, will they be able to blend in ? Will it save their host countries from additional support?
Sheryl Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Nothing to do with health, so moved to general.
Kudel Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Most people on disabilaty checks are only allowed to to stay 4 weeks a year abroad in my country and i dont think its any different in other euro countrys and if longer they loose their disability checks and have to get disability from their new country of residence wich in Thailand is not. People could get away with this in the past by putting there adres with a family member or something ,but those days are coming to an end because people like this are being checked up on nowadays .
Hedghog Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 So,Op. You think of those people with a disability, have a low IQ. I would be surprised making a statement like that, you actually understand what IQstands for. 1
GuestHouse Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 It might be a difficult journey, but I would encourage the OP to ponder on where he got the idea that 'competitiveness' was any kind of a measure of human worth. He might then move on to consider, subject to having the ability to do so, why he considers disability and low IQ to go hand in hand. These may seem daunting challenges to the OP, but take heart others have set themselves bigger challenges by far. 1
cpofc Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I originally saw this in a Swedish Newspaper early this year. Swedish politician, David Stansvik suggested that it would be a good idea to give retiring Swedes an option of relocating to Thailand. As aging populations around the world become an ever increasing burden on government coffers.http://www.chiangmaicitynews.com/news.php?id=1415 Australia recently tightened up on the criteria for disability payments for people living overseas, which was being rorted, by reducing the time one can spend overseas from 13 weeks to 6 weeks before payment is stopped. Technology, computer data matching is making it harder for the rorters.
