Duplicating circuit boards....

Featured Replies

Hey TV people- I wonder if you tech heads out there could lend a hand?

I have a small circut board that I need to modify slightly (change the size), but the problem is I have absolutely ZERO knowledge about circuit boards- or anything electronic for that matter.

I have a sample of the circuit board I would like to get made, and was wondering if anyone knew if there was a place somewhere here in Bangkok that could duplicate the one I have, with a few modifications. It looks to me like it is a very simple design.

Thanks for your help!

I do most of the production of my electronic designs including PCB production in-house at our lab. If the PCB design is overly complex, high density or need a lot of the same board I send my PCB file to futurlec.com to produce the board then have my technicians populate (install the parts) in-house. Their prices are pretty good but for a simple, small, one off board may not be worth the cost. They also will design the PCB but again, probably not cost effective for small run or single simple design. Most pcb houses will be the same as above.

Do you have the schematic? How big is the original PCB and how small do you wish to reduce it? Conventional parts or surface mounted components? Perhaps post a photo of the PCB and/or schematic if not a proprietary item and I can have a look and estimate the efforts required.

I can do it. Here's a picture of me at work in my workshop. Just PM for quote.

Hey there,

Thanks for the help!

As far as I can find, the circuit is a MOSFET- whatever that means. Ive got a pic, and luckily a circuit diagram and circuit board layout from someone who created a similar design.

The modifications I need to make;

-the CR2032's should be stacked on top of one another to save room.

-there should be only two contact points for the LED's (which I have at home).

-I would need to wire up the hot shoe (HS in the circuit diagram, and shown as the round holes in the board in the picture) to the board here to make it fit.

- the whole unit has to fit within a space 3cm by 3.5cm by 2cm (L, W, H)

The powerpoint file has basically all the info I need to create one, but it is all egyptian to me... and I wouldnt have the slightest idea where to get the components.

Its funny, this whole expereince (even just looking at the circuit board in question) has given me a whole new appreciation for everyday electronics!

Anyone else out there have any ideas to help me out with this?

find a trade show at Bitec or Impact,

even the metalworking show at Bitec next month has companies that can do it or point you to someone who does

how many do you plan on making ?
