Quick question here....my neighbor did his first marriage ext. last year. After handing in the stack of papers, they gave him a 30 day ext. so the paperwork could be approved in BKK before he got his yearly ext. Is this just for first timers or does he have to wait this 30 day thing every year? Thanks in advance

Every extension application has a 30 day review period with 30 day extension for Thai Wife extension of stay. Process is the same every year.

You get a 30 day under consideration stamp every year while application is sent to the regional immigration headquarters (not all of them go to Bangkok).

So every year you and the wife has to go to the Immigration office and you have to show photos of the house, a map where your house is etc?
