The mangled minibus ended up in the opposite lane.

PHUKET: -- Six people, including three children, were injured when the minibus they were travelling in flipped on the Mak Prok bend in Maikhao yesterday afternoon (October 6).

The minibus driver, Chaiyut Na Nakorn, 54, who was among the injured, told police that he was bringing the passengers back from Krabi.

“At that time it was raining heavily. The minibus slid and lost control, and went across the central reservation into the opposite lane.” It rolled at least once but luckily did not hit any other vehicles.

The injured were all friends or relatives of the driver. They were Kallaya Na Nakorn, 37, Sakulna Changreu, 26, Saraschana Taodang, 11, Patthama Na Nakorn, 8, and Phatchapon Kansin, 10. They were taken to Thalang Hospital for treatment. None was seriously hurt.

The driver should have said:

"At that time it was raining heavily, but I didn't slow down. The minibus slid and *I* lost control, and went across the central reservation into the opposite lane."

Come on guys, he is human. And many people would first like to blame something else, anything else, before looking at themselves.

and that is why i would rather lick dogs pee of stinging nettles than travel in a mini bus driven by a brainless moron with driving skills of a retarded monkey

27 Aug 2013 "Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt yesterday gave the Land Transport Department one month to tackle illegal commuter van operations."

How many were wearing safety belts? I've counted as many as 25 kindergarten students packed into a van in a certain school in Rama Two. Regular transport vans are a blessing compared to what I've seen some schools do.

Are we still supposed to do that when stupidity and exceptionally bad driving habits, a lack of knowledge about mechanics and a total lack of thought are present?

No seat belts worn, but no fatalities after van flips twice
Phuket Gazette

PHUKET: -- Six relatives, including three children, escaped serious injury when the van they were in flipped twice before coming to rest on Thepkrasattri Road in Mai Khao yesterday afternoon.

None of the adults or three children, aged 8 to 11, was wearing a seat belt when the van slid on the rain-slippery road and hit the median at a curve in Baan Mak Prok.

The vehicle flipped twice and came to rest upright in the northbound lane.

Staff at Thalang Hospital confirmed that none of the passengers suffered serious injuries.

“Six of them were brought to us with minor injuries. Four were released yesterday, but two of the adults asked to stay overnight in hospital. We sent them to Mission Hospital today for a more detailed checkup as a precaution,” one hospital staffer told the Phuket Gazette.

When police and rescue workers arrived at the scene shortly after 3:30pm, the family was sitting by the side of the road.

Some had abrasions, others back pain and some had head injuries, a rescue worker told the Gazette.

The driver, Chaiyut Nanakorn, 54, told police the family was on their way home after visiting relatives Krabi.

“He said it was raining and the road was very slippery,” said Tah Chat Chai Police officer Prakob Boonkwan.

“He said he lost control of the van and it flipped twice.

“We took photos of the crash scene and will question him further,” Col Prakob said.

And that is totally unrelated to my comment.

Excuse their idiocy.

If it flipped thats a clear indication it was going too fast.

I do recall you saying elseware, YOU drive a low rider cos YOU would be unsafe driving a hi-rider cos YOU would be a danger to others (or words to that affect) .

Come on guys, he is human.

My apologies, stevenl. I was still thinking of the 16+ dead in Buriram.

.........a westerner .......IS ALWAYS.......'going at high speed'..............a Thai...........NEVER..........

.......(makes you wonder what really happened, time and again.....the rest of the world has COMPULSORY 'Drivers' Education'.....)...

.....so what do you think really happened....

......murder....that's what.....

And also that (a very liberal understanding of my words BTW) is totally unrelated to my comment here.

I don't think anybody is doing that.

What are you talking about, where is the murder?

I hope I would be man enough to admit the truth what ever the consequences of my admission is.

HaHa Love it

Agree, but be careful with that. In insurance policies you will normally read that you are to refrain from admitting guilt, only state the facts (here not applicable since there were apparently no other vehicles involved).

It's pretty hard to lose control when you are driving to the conditions of the road and the conditions of your vehicle, tires and brakes, but I digress as this guy definitely was not doing that or the road wouldn't have been slippery. It only gets slippery above a certain speed, no matter the conditions on tarmac.

Whether car, boat or plane, the folks lives are in the hands of the guy operating the controls. Really simple stevenl. One take the job on and become responsible for folk. rolleyes.gif

Yes, agree, but that has again nothing to do with my comment.

Come on guys, he is human. And many people would first like to blame something else, anything else, before looking at themselves.

And you have verifiable DNA evidence to prove that

Getting to the point now where mini-bus operators will be carrying a tin of paint!

Glad he's a relative of the passengers, when they all recover they will know where to find the tw@t and kick the s**t out of him!!

Come on guys, he is human. And many people would first like to blame something else, anything else, before looking at themselves.

Well then, there are many many 'human' people in Thailand.....

And certainly more human than in any other part of this world of ours...
