Hi all

Is there such a thing as white pages phone book in Thaialnd?

How would one find the phone number of a person living in Pattaya.

A mate of mine lives in Pattaya but I have lost his phone number and have shifted from my previous address so he can not contact me.

You haven't given enough information. Yes, there is a white pages phone book in Thailand but I doubt if your friend will be included.......assuming he is not Thai. Your success, or otherwise, depends on too many things. For instance, the telephone number could be associated with his hotel, his lodgings or other rented accommodation.....or does he own his property? Perhaps your friend has moved also....people who rent property in Pattaya do move around occasionally. Maybe the number is that of a pre-paid mobile telephone; if so, you have no chance of locating him through that route.

Sorry to be so negative on this but it will be difficult for you to find his telephone number.

Write out a bunch of notes asking him to contact you, and leave them at all the bars he frequents, with instructions to give him the note if they see him. A real hard alternative is as PF suggests, pick a bar and just wait......

If he's a mate I would have thought that you would have his number or address :o

Thanks for your reply.

As far as I know he and his Thai wife own a house in a gated community, he holds a N Z and British passport.

Can one access the phone book on the internet, his number is likely to be in his wifes name

Do you know what bars he frequents?

I find the best way to find someone is to wait in one of their locals and they usually turn up.

One small problem with this, I live in Aussie

It's alright Warbs. ProfessorFart will wait in the pub for you, he likes to do that. For a small fee of course :o:D

If you succeed in finding your friend and/or his wife through the web site of Thailand yellow pages, I'll buy you a meal.

I've never yet succeeded in finding anything in Yellow pages on the net - be it a business, a person or whatever. It's either total crap. or I'm just plain stupid, or most likely - both. :o

As I have absolute confidence that the Yellow Pages will no more reveal the name of the missing friend, than this forum could reveal the name of the missing Linkin Park Yank), I am very happy to add you and Pattya Fox to my list of guests. :D

The Majestic bistro sounds like an excellent idea. I actually dined there with my wife the other week (just after immigration nearly through me out of the country). I had bangers and mash (not bad) :D and the wife ordered an inedible steak, half of which we took home for the dog - and she wouldn't eat it either. :D

Mind you, any trouble at the Yellow Pages/Missing friend party and we would have to call over the head butting waiter - or even summons one of those suicidal rubber band swingers from the soon-to-be built Majestic Towers to do a bit of butting.

BTW - I wonder whatever happened to JomtienBob? Maybe he's the missing friend. :o
