"Police officers were unable to determine the cause of death"

Really???? Has anyone stopped to consider that it is not the job of the police to determine the cause of death. Police are not trained in this field. Even if a person is laying there with his/her throat slashed and the obvious cause may be there. police still cannot determine a cause of death or if the person is in fact deceased.

Sad to see...hopefully she passed painlessly in her sleep.

Easy to forget she is the Daughter to a Mother & Father somewhere. :-(

Relax.... a press person probably just asked the question.

A person has been found dead, it should be treated as "crime scene" until proven otherwise. Detectives can take all measures to record any evidence at the scene & the "Police" forensic department can then take over!!

agree with this. Forensics are responsible for finding out the cause of death.

It is the job of the press to acquire and publish the facts, not ask the police a question they could never answer.

condolences but why is this flagged as a Must Read? There's no indication that this was murder.

Wow, a young woman has died and all some can do is nitpick on the report.

27 is very young to die and this is a terrible thing for her family and friends. lets do try to remember that when posting.

Yes, which presumably why

"the body has been transferred to the Police Hospital Forensics Laboratory to determine the cause of death."

I mean, it was in the same paragraph !

Perverse; you looked at a photograph that had a warning, attached to the report of a death, and then criticise the publication of it.

What was the point of your looking at the photo?

...what is the point of the photograph......

Do try to remember that Buddhism does not teach respect for others. It is, if you know about it (rather than the suppositions we all make) very, very inward looking.

Why the hell can the police use a little bit of respect and put the blanket over her bottom half. Must get little bit extra tip off the press for the bear body stuff.

Poor women, God bless and rest in peace.

They Should treat all deaths as suspicious until it is clear that it was not foul play. they should also prevent crucial forensic evidences from being compromised by keeping everybody away from the crime scene, instead of inviting the local media circus in to pollute it.

Not in Thailand.

Yes, I agree with you but I have to say in the USA the police would often say something similar. Something like, "there are no obvious signs of wrong doing" or "there are no obvious signs of the cause of death" and then you wait for the coroner's report.

Such a young age to pass away, she was still just a kid herself..RIP

In the Thai version, she is an employee of the hotel, working as a receptionist/greeter and she died in the employee's quarters of the hotel. The Thai version emphasises she was not wearing anythiing on her bottom half (not sure what the journalist is getting at - creating scandal or titillation?). They also state that the sleeping pills are available by prescription only.

so many mysteries in life.

The news is sad to read, particularly at such a young age. These stories do serve as notification to persons that may have known her, since obituaries seem to be few and far between I the local media.

A few minutes reflection of her passing is a good thing. Peace All.
