After reading members' numerous posts on the steps to obtaining an O-A Visa, the process went smoothly for me. Thank you all.

My current O-A Visa is due to expire on Jan 8, 2014. I plan to take a short trip to Singapore in December 2013 to extend it for another year. That I pretty much understand.

My questions are on the 90 day reporting. My next date to report is Jan 15, 2014. If I make the trip to Singapore in December then I believe that the 90 days starts from the day I return to Thailand, right? Does that mean that the Jan 15th reporting is nullified? And will I have to go in person to immigration instead of reporting by mail as I usually do? Thanks in advance.

Your report will be due 90 days from the date you enter the country. No report needed in January.

You can still do your report by mail. Just make sure you include a copy your departure and entry stamp pages in the package.

Be sure you get a re-entry permit for any travel after Jan. 8 when your visa expires.

You are not extending your visa !

Providing you return to Thailand before the visa expires you will be given a one year "permission to stay"

A 90 day report will be due 90 0days after you enter Thailand.

Remember any trips taken outside Thailand during a second year of stay will require a re-entry permit.

Thanks. What about the receipt of notification paper that I send in along with the other paperwork. I will not have this to send in. Is that ok?

You could include the Jan. slip with the departure and entry stamp page copies attached to it. Also it would not hurt to high lite the pertinent stamps.
