PHUKET: -- A judge today set the sentencing date of Lee Aldhouse for the murder of American Marine Dashawn Longfellow.

“The judge set the sentencing date for November 28,” Phuket Provincial Prosecutor Tawan Suknirundorn told the Phuket Gazette.

At the hearing today, Aldhouse signed a copy of Mr Longfellow’s passport, writing that he, Lee Aldhouse, had stabbed “this man”.

After police gave their statements and presented their evidence, the judge asked Aldhouse if there was any last statement he would like to make.

Aldhouse stood up.

“I would like to apologize to his family and friends. I didn’t mean to kill him,” Aldhouse said.

There were no members of the Longfellow family present in the courtroom.

'I didn't mean to kill him'.

What he really meant to say was..

'It wasn't a problem until I got caught'

Sentencing for what crime? You don't "not mean" to commit murder, so it's not murder right? I thought the prosecution was chasing murder so that would require a trial - manslaughter plea no good. Sorry on mobile didn't rtfa.

What was the purpose of writing in the Marine's passport that he "stabbed him"? That seems to truly compound this despicable act. He shouldn't have been allowed to touch the man's passport. Strange.

Pitbull better hope there's no American servicemen waiting for him in the lockup.

If he didn't mean to kill him he shouldn't have went to his room with a knife.

One thing to accidentally kill someone in a fight, quite another when you take a weapon with you.

I hope the sentence fits the cowardice.

He went to 7 11 to get a knife.

It was a copy, but your point is well taken.

Thai thinking - he has signed the passport copy to confirm he stabbed this man i.e. admits he stabbed the victim and confirms the victim is indeed the man with he is being charged with killing.
