I was moving between a couple of applications on my laptop, including Thaivisa on Chrome, and I saw what looked like a popup message with what looked like a red "-1" in it.

It disappeared before I could properly see what it was, so I am unsure whether it was from Thaivisa or not.

Does Thaivisa display any warnings that might pop up?

As I said, I was moving between applications, so I may have pressed enter or space that might have "acknowledged" it, but I didn't see enough of it to know what it was?

We don't have any (error) messages that looks as you describe it. If you see it appear again, please take a screenshot and post here.
