Visa Run Poipet Need To Enter Cambodia?

Featured Replies

Hi

Do you actually have to go into Cambodia or is just leaving Thailand enough?

The Poipet crossing has about 100 m of casinos etc in between the 2 borders, you are officially outside Thailand and if you do not need to stamp into Cambodia it would save time, 20usd and more importantly a passport page!

Thanks and please let me know

Yes you must obtain visa and enter/exit Cambodia.

This is true on any of the land borders.

Unless you have an exit stamp from the adjacent country you will not be

permitted to enter Thailand.

The exception is entry by air, where there is no check, as many countries in Europe do not stamp passports on exit, or entry for that matter.

Is that also true for Cambodia?

more so, as you need to apply for a visa to enter which you can do at the border, plus they take a picture of you on the border crossings as well, so no picture on the way in, means you cannot get out!
