retirement visa at Jomtien - not same day service ?

I applied for my retirement extension this afternoon and was told to come back to pick up passport after 10 am on Monday. On past occasions i recall it being returned the same day. is this a new thing - or is it simply because it is Friday?

Started last year during high season.

They were also doing this 9 years ago. They did it every year for at least 6 years.

Like I said on another thread, I've NEVER gotten my passport back the same day for several years.
